Job Description

We’re looking for a part-time A&R / Artist Services Sales Associate to join our team and speak directly with artists who are interested in working with us. This is not a cold-calling position . Our marketing and lead-generation system brings artists into our funnel, qualifies them, and books calls directly onto your calendar. Your job is to take those calls, understand the artist’s career and goals, explain how our Artist Services program can help, and convert strong-fit artists into clients. What You’ll Do Take scheduled calls with qualified artist leads provided by our lead system Learn about each artist’s music, career, goals, current challenges, and release plans Evaluate whether the artist is a strong fit for our services Explain our Artist Services offering clearly and confidently Provide thoughtful A&R and career insight during the conversation Handle questions and objections from prospective clients Close qualified artists into the program Maintain accurate notes and follow-up on leads when necessary Communicate with our internal team regarding newly signed artists Who We’re Looking For We want someone who can combine music industry credibility with strong sales instincts . You should: Have a strong understanding of the independent artist landscape Have experience in A&R, artist management, artist development, label services, distribution, music marketing, or a similar field Be comfortable speaking with artists at very different stages of their careers Be personable, confident, articulate, and persuasive on calls Know how to ask good questions and quickly understand what an artist actually needs Be comfortable selling a premium service when you genuinely believe it is a fit Understand that this is both an A&R role and a sales role Be organized and dependable with scheduled calls and follow-ups Previous sales or closing experience is highly preferred. How the Role Works Qualified prospective artists are generated through our advertising and lead funnel and scheduled directly for calls. There is no expectation that you source your own leads or cold call artists . The role is part-time and primarily call-based, making it ideal for someone already working within the music business who wants an additional opportunity to work with emerging artists. Call volume can grow over time based on performance and availability. About Us Mind of a Genius is the independent record company behind artists including ZHU, Gallant, THEY. and others. Through our Artist Services platform, we work with independent artists on areas including A&R, release strategy, marketing strategy, playlist pitching, sync opportunities, career development, and overall artist growth. Position: Part-Time Location: Remote but must be based in Los Angeles.
